The Vatican is confirming Pope Francis' presence at major events.
Despite his knee problems, the Pope announced trips to Africa and Canada in July. Now the Vatican reported that the Pope will preside over the Pentecost celebration on June 5.
The ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Basilica and the participation is expected to be larger than in the last two years, when the pandemic reduced the number of people able to be present at the celebration.
POPE FRANCIS
The world sees conservatives and progressives; the Spirit sees children of God. The worldly gaze sees structures to be made more efficient; the spiritual gaze sees brothers and sisters begging for mercy.
The Pope has not presided over all recent events, but he did for the canonizations. However, he will most likely not take part in the Corpus Christi procession.
