After his General Audience, Pope Francis greeted children who fled the war in Ukraine and are staying in Rome.
POPE FRANCIS
I extend a particularly affectionate greeting to the Ukrainian children hosted by the Foundation 'Aiutiamoli a Vivere,' the Puer Association, and the Ukrainian Embassy to the Holy See. With this greeting to the children, we remember the monstrosity of this war, and we renew our prayers that this savage cruelty of war be stopped.
The Pope greeted each of them individually, and took the time to look at the drawings and signs made for him with the colors of the Ukrainian flag, including one that reads “Children for Peace.”
