Men and women religious from different congregations will gather for Mass in St. Peter's Basilica on Wednesday, Feb. 2, to celebrate World Day for Consecrated Life.
At last year's celebration, Pope Francis reminded consecrated men and women of the importance of practicing patience in their personal and community lives, even when discouraged by “unmet expectations.”
POPE FRANCIS
February 2, 2021
'Patience is not a sign of weakness, but the strength of spirit that enables us to carry the burden, to bear, to bear the burden, of personal and community problems, to accept others as different from ourselves, to persevere in goodness when all seems futile.”
The celebration, which coincides with the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., local time.
