He goes by RabelzTheMC. He's a Catholic hip-hop artist and rapper from Brooklyn. Melvin Windley converted to Catholicism in 2005, and after discovering the writings of St. Faustina Kowalska, he set out to communicate her message of mercy through his music.

“One of the most important messages of Divine Mercy is self-forgiveness. You know, once you allow yourself to be forgiven, then you can accept Christ's forgiveness.”

His conversion completely revolutionized the content of his music. In fact, the first Catholic rap he ever produced is called “Novena,” and is inspired by the popular nine-day prayer.

RABELZTHEMC
“The nine-day novena that Jesus brought to St. Faustina to bring to the world. And I was like, How can I convince people? How can I transition people from my culture, people from my background experience, into accepting this message without drilling it down their throats, without telling them, 'Oh, you have to do this, you have to do that.'”

Rabelz says he's never looked back since deciding to exclusively make Catholic rap and hip-hop. And his audience is more broad than he'd expected, his listeners being anywhere from 10 to over 65 years old.

RabelzTheMC hopes to continue using the fresh beats of rap and hip-hop to communicate an old message of mercy.
