At the end of the General Audience the Pope asked to pray for the more than 70 victims of an explosion of a truck full of gasoline in Haiti.
POPE FRANCIS
'Poor Haiti. One after another. It is a suffering people. Let us pray, let us pray for Haiti. They are good people, strong people, religious people. But they are suffering a lot.'
The Pope was referring to the fact that in recent years Haiti has been in the news because of earthquakes and natural disasters that have left hundreds dead, and other sad events such as the assassination of the country's president.
