Pilgrims still can't get as close to Pope Francis as in the pre-pandemic era.
Yet the experience of being able to see him up close continues to thrill pilgrims like Miguelangelo. He comes from Mexico and attended in the Wednesday general audience.
MIGUELANGELO MACIEL
ORIG. SPANISH
The most important experience is to be in a place where the faith, the Catholic faith, is from. Then, the huge experience is feeling the presence of the Pope, to feel the joy of the Holy Spirit when you see the Pope, the shouting, the emotion of the people. It's priceless.
The Brotherhood of Our Lady of Grace in Faenza, a town in northern Italy, came to the audience to celebrate the 600th anniversary of their founding. They have an ancient devotion to the Marian icon.
PAOLO CELLI
ORIGINAL ITALIAN
It was very beautiful. Our parish priest gave the Pope an image of Our Lady of Graces and told him about this devotion that there is in our city.
More and more winter coats are appearing at each week's audience, a sign that the cold is beginning to set in in Rome.
