Pope Francis expressed his sorrow following the massacre in Wisconsin that took place on Nov. 21.
In a telegram addressed to the Archbishop of Milwaukee, the Pope asked that “his spiritual closeness to all affected” be conveyed, and he said he is praying for the souls of the deceased.
The text, signed by Vatican Secretary of State Card. Pietro Parolin, concludes with a prayer asking for the “healing and consolation” of those affected. Pope Francis prays that everyone will receive “the spiritual strength” to “overcome evil with good.”
