This was the moment the new ambassador of Israel to the Holy See presented his credential letters to Pope Francis.

-'Your Holiness, it is an honor for me, and may I add, also a pleasure, to present to you the credential letters signed by the President of the State of Israel.'
-'Thank you very much, Mr. Ambassador. Thank you for the kindness of speaking my language. Thank you very much.'
-'It is my pleasure.'

His name is Raphael Schutz. He speaks Spanish very well because he worked in several diplomatic missions: in Chile, Colombia and Spain.

He has a delicate job ahead of him. His meeting with Pope Francis comes just a few days after the Palestinian leader, Mahmoud Abbas, asked the Pope for help in light of Israel's campaign to build new settlements in the West Bank.

Tension in the Holy Land continues. The latest significant wave of violence in the region happened in May.
