The new ambassador of Ghana to the Holy See, Ms. Angelina Baiden-Amissah, brightened the Apostolic Palace with her traditional Ghanaian attire and cheerful smile.
-“Good morning.”
-“Good morning.”
-“I'm learning Italian... How are you?”
She presented her credential letters to Pope Francis, and greeted him on behalf of her predecessor and the President of Ghana.
-“Please accept their highest compliments...”
-“Thank you very much. That's very kind of you.”
Before saying goodbye, the Pope blessed the group accompanying the Ambassador and assured them of his prayers.
-“I will pray for you... I ask the Lord to bless all of you.”
The Holy See established diplomatic relations with Ghana since 1975, and many of the African country's educational and health institutions were established by the Catholic Church.
