It's great to see you after so many years!

Luis Emilio Montalvo is the new Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Holy See.

Montalvo met Pope Francis for the first time when he was an Ambassador to Argentina. The Pope was the Archbishop of Buenos Aires at the time.

The Ambassador is a psychiatrist and has great medical experience.

As a gift, he gave the Pope a collection of his opinion articles on the Vatican.

The Pope gave the Ambassador a medallion commemorating his pontificate, as well as his most important writings.

Then he prayed with the Ambassador and his family for the Dominican Republic.

The new Ambassador is responsible for continuing the work of his predecessor, Eunisis Vasquez, who returned to the Dominican Republic a few months ago, after being named a magistrate of the Constitutional Court.
