Pope Francis met with the bishops of southern France at the Vatican in an ad limina apostolorum visit. That is, a visit to Rome required of bishops of a single region to meet with Vatican officials and report on the state of their dioceses to the Pope.

France's bishops were scheduled to traveled to Rome in 2020, but had to postpone their visit due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Together with the Pope, they prayed the Hail Mary in Latin.

The group of bishops included members of France's Eastern Churches.

After a year of waiting, the Pope will continue to meet with various groups of bishops, barring another pandemic.
