During the Sunday Angelus in St. Peter's Square, Pope Francis reflected on the words of Jesus: “I am the bread of life.”
POPE FRANCIS
'The hungry do not ask for refined and expensive food, they ask for bread. Those who are without work do not ask for enormous salaries, but rather the “bread” of employment. Jesus reveals himself as bread, that is, the essential, what we need for everyday life'.
The Pope says that Jesus is as simple as He is important, and suggests we give him more space in our personal lives and in the family.
POPE FRANCIS
'At least once a day we come together to eat; maybe in the evening, as a family, after a day of work or study. It would be nice before breaking bread, to invite Jesus, the bread of life, to ask him simply to bless what we have done and what we have failed to do'.
This is one way in which the Pope says we can bring God into our homes to nourish the soul.
