An envelope containing three bullets addressed to Pope Francis was intercepted by law enforcement in Milan.
The Carabinieri Provincial Command office said the suspicious envelope, sent from France, was found by post office employees at the processing center in Peschiera Borromeo and handed over to authorities on Sunday night.
There was no sender on the envelope, only the words “il Papa – Città delVaticano,” (the Pope – Vatican City) scribbled in pen. The Carabinieri Provincial Command said there was no written message inside, only the three bullets.
Law enforcement continues to investigate.
