As part of the Amoris Laetitia Year proclaimed by Pope Francis, the Vatican is promoting the creation of a Catholic Global Compact on the Family.
The goal of the Compact is to be a shared program of actions to demonstrate the cultural and anthropological importance of the family, by focusing especially on family relationships, the social value of the family and good practices of family policies at the international level.
The Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences are spearheading the initiative, in collaboration with the International Center of Family Studies and research centers on the family in Catholic universities around the world.
The Dicastery announced that the Catholic Global Compact on the Family will be presented as part of a closing event, before the World Meeting of Families in June 2022.
