Young people from Latin America will have the opportunity to participate in a workshop on best ecumenical and religious practices. The initiative is spearheaded by CREAS, a regional ecumenical organization in Latin America.

The project is called Ikuméni. The goal is to guide young Christians to work together toward peace.

“The idea is to equip them with leadership skills so that they can organize these ecumenical and interreligious initiatives at the service of the common good, in their own communities.”

Ikuméni is inspired by Catholic Church documents that invite people to serve those most in need. They aim to foster attitudes that can lead to development, reconciliation and peace.

“By the end of the program, they feel that they have acquired those skills. Then they can design and implement best practices.”

Young people of different Christian professions will participate in the initiative, which seeks to promote an encounter with people who don't share their beliefs.

“We think it's necessary to strengthen alliances, to grow in community and cooperate, especially on issues related to the common good and which affect everyone.”

The first workshop on best ecumenical practices will take place with participants from Colombia and Peru. Later, it will be expanded to other Latin American countries.
