The Pope's doctors report that Thursday was calm, and that his clinical progress is normal. They say that he no longer has a temperature and that he continues to eat regularly.
Pope Francis continues his scheduled treatment as he slowly returns to his normal activities. He has been walking outside of his room and spending time working and reading.
The Pope will remain in the hospital this weekend. On Sunday, he will pray the Angelus from the 10th floor of the hospital, as John Paul II did when he was hospitalized.
Pope Francis expresses gratitude for the messages of affection and closeness he has been receiving, and he continues to ask for prayers.
