Every July, the Pope suspends most of his public and official events.
The only event he keeps on his agenda is the Sunday Angelus with pilgrims in St. Peter’s Square.
He also suspends General Audiences and does not schedule any meetings with leaders. Though he’s already made one exception.

“On July 1, I will meet at the Vatican with the leaders of the Christian communities present in Lebanon, for a day of reflection on the country’s situation, and to pray together for peace and stability.”
Pope Francis doesn’t usually leave Rome for the summer. He remains in his residence at Casa Santa Marta.
It’s a good time for him to work on magisterial documents and to have more private meetings than he can the rest of the year.
