On Monday, June 14, Pope Francis will publish his Message for the fifth World Day of the Poor, which will be celebrated on Sunday, Nov. 14. This year's theme is from St. Mark's Gospel: “The poor you will have with you always.”
The Pope's message will be presented by Abp. Rino Fisichella and Msgr. Graham Bell from the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization.
Pope Francis established World Day of the Poor in 2017 to raise awareness of the needs of the poor and to encourage people to take more action to serve them.
That day, the Pope usually invites the poor to lunch, but last year, because of the pandemic, he was only able to celebrate Mass and give each person a food package.
