As Rome prepares for the Year of Jubilee in 2025, Pope Francis is calling for full transparency in the diocese.
The Pope has asked Alessandro Cassinis Righini, the Holy See’s auditor general, to audit the Diocese of Rome and look closely at its balances and budgets.
It’s an unprecedented step that will look into how investments, estates and human resources are managed in the diocese.
The diocese of Rome oversees some 330 parishes and more than 500 churches, all of which will have to prepare to welcome the thousands of pilgrims who will flock to Rome in 2025 for the Jubilee.
