In a videomessage for the month of June, Pope Francis recalls the beauty of marriage. He wonders if 'it is true that young people do not want to get married, especially in these hard times.'
The Pope acknowledges that marriage is a journey of commitment which can be difficult and complicated, but worth embarking on. He reminds us that couples are not alone in this lifelong journey, since Jesus is always with them.
He says that marriage is not just a 'social' act, but that it is a vocation. It is a decision which requires preparation, so that 'we can make God's dream of love our own.'
For this reason, Pope Francis asks us to pray for young people preparing for marriage, so they may grow in love with generosity, fidelity and patience. 'Because it takes a lot of patience to love. But it is worth it,' he says.
