In 2019 Pope Francis closed World Youth Day in Panama with a message to young people.
POPE FRANCIS
'We like to say, 'you are the future'. No, you are the present. You are not God's future. You young people are God's now.'
The Pope's words inspired the title of this new album: “Sois el ahora de Dios,” or “You are God's now', made up of 19 songs by emerging and established Catholic artists and musicians.
The project is promoted by the youth department of the Spanish Bishops' Conference, which has been working with these artists for years.
Together they have organized events centered on music, prayer, and spiritual formation. Now they are looking to support those who have long been evangelizing through music, and to give a boost to promising young musicians.
FR. RAUL TINAJERO
Spanish Bishop's Conference
“To evangelize through music is to speak of the love of Christ, which is the purest, most beautiful thing, in a way that everyone understands and that touches your heart. We wanted to embrace those who have been doing this for many years, who have helped us a lot, especially in this dialogue with young people. But the other main objective was to look for new talents.”
“You are God's now” is more than just an album. It's the fruit of a mission to promote and support musicians: some of the world's greatest evangelizers.
