Pope Francis is calling for peace and dialogue after a cease-fire was declared between Israel and Palestine.

POPE FRANCIS
“I thank God for this decision to stop the armed conflicts and acts of violence, and I pray for the pursuit of paths of dialogue and peace.”

Pope Francis asked Catholics around the world to organize prayer meetings this Saturday to pray for peace, such as those held in Israel and Palestine.

POPE FRANCIS
“I take this occasion to ask all the pastors and faithful of the Catholic Church to unite themselves spiritually with this prayer.”

His request came in a meeting with nine new ambassadors to the Holy See, who represent countries such as Singapore, Algeria, and Nepal.
