Germany's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Heiko Maas, met with Pope Francis at the Vatican on Wednesday.
He gave him a piece of the Berlin Wall. And this is what the Pope had to say.
'How much suffering there, right?'
'Thank you very much!'
The Pope gave him a bas-relief sculpture of Noah along with a message.
'Seek a way of salvation for Nature and for each person'.
In a tweet, Haas says they discussed “how to prevent Covid-19 from exacerbating the inequalities between the North and South” and what the EU can do to ensure countries that need vaccines can get them.
Before the meeting he said they would also discuss the measures taken by the Church against abuse by the clergy.
It was a very cordial meeting between the two.
