Pope Francis met with FIDESCO, an organization born in France in 1980 after the Synod on the Family.
It has 2,000 volunteers and coordinates about 50 solidarity projects in countries in need.

I encourage you to continue on this path, remaining rooted in Catholic Social Teaching. Now it is more important than ever that Christ's faithful be examples of tenderness and compassion.
The pope asked them not to lose sight of the evangelizing mission that must characterize Christians so that they do not become merely NGOs.

I invite you, when you are in the most intense moments of your mission, with your personal relationship with the Lord and with your life of faith, to keep intact that astonishment, that wonder, that enthusiasm to live out the Gospel of fraternity.
At the end of their meeting, the organization's volunteers and representatives said goodbye to the pope like this.
