The pope's personal physician died of Covid-19 in January.
His name was Fabrizio Soccorsi.
Now the Vatican has announced his replacement.
The new person responsible for caring for the pope's health is Roberto Bernabei.
He is 69 years old and works at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome. There he heads the department of aging, neuroscience and orthopedic sciences.
His first case will be the pope's sciatica.
From now on he will accompany the pope during important events, including his upcoming trip to Iraq.
