Pedro Manuel Salado de Alba was born in Chiclana de la Frontera, Spain. He was a missionary for Hogar de Nazaret. He dedicated his life to children's formation and to serving his community.
He spent some time in Ecuador, where he carried out an arduous task: directing a school in the community, where he demonstrated all his professional, human and spiritual qualities.
Everything changed at noon on Feb. 5, 2012, during a trip to the Ecuadorian beaches of Esmeraldas. When the ocean waves dragged seven children away, Pedro Manuel ran to save them.

“They took him to shore, exhausted. There on the shore, when one of the sisters told him, 'Pedro Manuel, you saved them all,' he opened his eyes for the last time and passed away. The children gathered round him and prayed to God not to take him away, but Pedro Manuel had already completed his mission on earth. He spent many years in Cordoba and later at the mission. This is how God wanted him to give his life.”
His sanctity led to the opening of the cause for his beatification on Oct. 12, 2018, in the Cathedral of Cordoba.

“Everyone who met him was enriched by that joy, by that patience, by that ability to listen and of course, by that total dedication. FLASH His life and his selflessness are an invitation to give yourself, as he gave himself. They show how he loved those around him, how he gave his life for them, even to the end.”
Humility, hard work and a bit of shyness are some of the qualities that characterized this Servant of God. His brothers from Hogar de Nazaret say his cause offers encouragement to the Church on the path to the goal of all the consecrated: sainthood.
