The year 2020 was the year of the health crisis. It completely changed the world's agenda, and the Vatican was no exception.
However, Pope Francis' response did not go unnoticed. The Urbi et Orbi blessing he gave on March 27 in an empty St. Peter's Square was one of the images that impacted the world.
The pope used Wednesday's catechesis to reflect on the crisis and what can be learned from it. The pandemic did not prevent him from holding events such as the interreligious gathering for peace in Rome, which even helped him in the development of another encyclical, as was the case with Fratelli Tutti.
Therefore, the year 2020 was a year of crisis, but also a year of profound teachings that revealed the vision of the Argentine pontiff.
