With the number of Covid cases soaring in the United States, this priest in South Carolina has been doing his part to address some of the problems that have been aggravated by the pandemic.

FR. JEFFREY KIRBY
Author of “Living in Peace”
“During the coronavirus pandemic, what we've seen are massive pastoral difficulties, from suicide, on the extreme, to opioid addiction, to alcohol abuse, to domestic violence, to depression and other mental or emotional disorders. This has not been a very good time for many people.”

That's why Fr. Jeffrey Kirby decided to publish the book, “Living in Peace,” precisely when the world needs to be reminded that all is not lost.

“'Living in Peace' is a collection of homilies that were originally given during the lockdown in the early spring, and it's about the hope that we have in Jesus Christ; that darkness doesn't win; that even in the midst of great struggles and difficulties, in Christ we can find a path to light and even to peace.”

Fr. Kirby, who has written extensively on mercy, was named a Missionary of Mercy in July. He hopes this compilation of reflections will help people find the strength to persevere in uncertain times.
