(…) Authority is a service, and as such should be exercised, for the good of all and for the dissemination of the Gospel. It is awful to see when people who have authority in the Church seek their own interests.”
The reflection is extremely relevant today, given the Vatican's investigation of an inappropriate use of the Secretariat of State's funds by officials who, during interrogation, have also accused Card. Angelo Becciu.
The cardinal has not been accused of any crime, but the pope asked him to resign during the investigation.
