From the library of the Apostolic Palace, Pope Francis continued his catechesis on prayer, reflecting on the mystery of creation. He warned against the temptation of forgetting one's own significance amid the wonders of the universe.

POPE FRANCIS
In this boundless vastness, what is man? 'Almost nothing,' says another psalm, a being which is born, a being that dies, an extremely fragile creature. Nevertheless, in the whole universe, the human being is the only creature aware of such abundant beauty

Pope Francis said the beauty of life can open the human heart to prayer. He said men and women who pray acknowledge that hope is stronger than discouragement.

POPE FRANCIS
If life, with all its bitterness, at times threatens to suffocate in us the gift of prayer, we have but to contemplate a starry sky, a sunset, a flower, to rekindle the spark of gratitude.

Pope Francis said life is a gift from God, too short to waste it away in sadness.
