At the beginning of Mass at Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis prayed for those who have lost their jobs due to the pandemic-caused crisis. Currently, over 436 million businesses are at risk of having to interrupt their activities.

In these days, many people have lost their jobs. They haven't been rehired, so they were working under the table. Let us pray for these brothers and sisters of ours who are suffering because of this lack of work.
According to the International Labour Organization, the crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic has affects approximately 1.6 billion workers in the informal economy. This means almost half of the global working population risks losing its livelihood.
