During his homily at Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis said the Lord always consoles through His closeness, truth and hope.
POPE FRANCIS
He is always there. That closeness is God's style, even in the Incarnation, drawing closer to us. The Lord consoles through nearness. He doesn't use empty words. Instead, He prefers silence, the strength of closeness, of presence. He speaks little, but He is near.
Pope Francis explained that God's consolation is sincere, not deceptive nor an anesthetic. He said, “His consolation is nearness, He is truth and He opens the doors of hope.”
