The music doesn't stop, and it's not just thanks to people singing from their windows and balconies.

Musical institutions like the National Academy of St. Cecilia in Rome, Siena's Accademia Musicale Chigiana and the Fenice Theatre in Venice will temporarily be streaming free concerts online.

“Imagining our Rome without music, for someone like me, and, I think, also for you, is impossible.”

St. Cecilia's concerts can be accessed through the institution's website.

The Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena is also streaming free concerts. The initiative, called “Chigiana stops COVID-19,” adds different concerts every week on the academy's YouTube channel.

In addition to concerts, musicians from the Fenice Theatre in Venice shared this video to show their support for doctors and nurses treating the sick.

“I'm first oboe at the Fenice Theatre. My colleagues and I wanted to dedicate this music to Sandra Turbian, an anesthesiologist at the Vittorio Veneto hospital, and by extension all medical workers who are making a real effort for all of us.”

That's one of the beautiful things about music. It can be enjoyed anywhere, be it a concert hall, a balcony or a laptop in a tiny living room.
