In his homily at Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis reflected on three temptations that divide Christian communities: money, vanity, and gossip.
POPE FRANCIS
That thing which the devil puts in us, as a need to talk about others. 'What a good person he is...' 'Yes, yes, but...' Immediately the 'but.' It is a stone to disqualify the other good things. Immediately I hear them say something negative, and I diminish the good things a little.
In the face of these temptations, the pope recommended being docile to the Holy Spirit. He explained that God 'always comes with His strength to save us from this worldliness of money, vanity and gossip. God is also capable of great miracles.
