With the coronavirus having taken center-stage around the world, it's easy to forget the countless other crises impacting many people.
Bangui, capital of the Central African Republic, was hit by devastating floods in October, 2019, displacing over 28,000 people.
The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission In The Central African Republic is dedicated to helping those affected.

“It is for us an incredible symbol of solidarity and generosity that the staff of the MINUSCA national staff association made. They decided to assist the victims of the floods at the end of 2019.”
The organization distributed useful items, including clothes, shoes, salt, soap and sardine tins, to the displaced.
Many of those affected responded with gratitude to this much-needed help, as they often feel alone and forgotten.

“We thank MINUSCA for the donation it gives us today. Before, we lived on Gbongoussoua Island. But with the rising waters, our homes are destroyed. Now we live on the site of the displaced. No one is helping us. This gesture that the MINUSCA has just made appeals to us very much, and we are happy.”
The organization's staff plans on continuing to aid people in other areas of Bangui, especially those hit by the floods.
