The Vatican prepared the texts for a special Mass 'for time of pandemic.' It also added a new prayer intention to the Good Friday service.
The Congregation for Divine Worship made this decision after receiving many requests to celebrate a Mass specifically to implore God to end the current pandemic.
It can be celebrated any day during a time of pandemic, except during the solemnities and feasts of Holy Week.
The Vatican has also published the text of a prayer it had previously announced in a decree, to be included in the Good Friday celebration. The intention is for those who have suffered and those who continue to suffer because of the coronavirus pandemic.
