Pope Francis began his daily Mass by expressing gratitude. He thanked the many initiatives to help those suffering from the restrictions and quarantines.
POPE FRANCIS
Many people are starting to show more general concern for others. They are thinking about families who don't have enough to survive, about the elderly who are alone, about the sick who are in the hospital. They are praying and making an effort to help them. This is a good sign. Let us thank the Lord and ask Him to fill the hearts of the faithful with these sentiments.
The Vatican has also launched various initiatives through the pontifical almoner, who visited convents with religious infected by the coronavirus. The Holy See also donated 30 ventilators to Italy's hardest-hit regions.
