In difficult times, small gestures of solidarity go a long way. This is something the 'Papal Almoner' understands well.

Cardinal Konrad Krajewski visited two quarantined religious communities, after many of their nuns tested positive for the coronavirus.

The communities are the Congregation of the Daughters of St. Camillus of Grottaferrata and the Congregation of the Angelic Sisters of St. Paul. The cardinal surprised them when he showed up with food supplies from the pontifical villas.

Food supplies were also taken to the Pope John XXIII home for the elderly. The residence was quarantined after two workers tested positive for Covid-19.
