Pope Francis began his daily Mass at Casa Marta by praying for the elderly who are alone and afraid.

I want to pray today for the elderly who are suffering in this moment in a special way. Those who have a large interior solitude and sometimes are very afraid. They have given us wisdom, life, history. We are close to them through prayer.
He asked that people are not only close to their grandparents, but to all the elderly, to give them strength.
The coronavirus has been found to have serious, life-threatening effects on the elderly, especially if they have existing medical problems. Thus, many are in isolation, living in fear of contagion.
