This is how this group of kids from Children's Catholic Action of Italy welcomed the pope. They are celebrating their 50th anniversary.

They also congratulated him for three reasons: the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood, his birthday and Christmas.

That's why Pope Francis asked them to gather together in prayer on Christmas Day, following the example of the shepherds who went to see Jesus, “who came into the world to bring love.”

POPE FRANCIS
“Today He asks you to be little 'bridges' where you live. You already realize there is always a need to build bridges, right? What's better? Building bridges or walls?

(Bridges).

I can't hear well.

(Bridges).

Did you say walls? What did you say?

(Bridges).

Now I understand.”

He also asked them to learn from the self-giving and service of the Virgin Mary and St. Joseph, who can “really teach us to accept Jesus, to adore and follow him day by day.”

To immortalize the moment, all the children took a picture with the pope.
