During the General Audience, the pope recalled St. Paul's situation in Corinth. He remembered that Paul was welcomed by a married couple, Aquila and Priscilla. He explained that by opening their house to Paul, “Aquila and Priscilla also remind us of the many families who, by faith proclaim the Good News.”

The pope said that these people make us remember that thanks to the faith and commitment to evangelization of many laypeople like them, Christianity has taken root and been laid down for us.

SUMMARY OF POPE'S CATECHESIS IN ENGLISH

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

To continue the catechesis on the Acts of the Apostles, we see a married couple, Aquila and Priscilla, welcome St. Paul to Corinth. This married couple was full of faith, and when they opened their house to St. Paul, they embraced the Gospel. Their home became a “true domestic church.”

When Paul left for Ephesus, they accompanied him and later returned to Rome. Aquila and Priscilla also remind families to proclaim the Good News, open their hearts to Christ and make their homes a place of fellowship, faith and hope.

I greet the English-speakers in today's Audience, especially those from England, Denmark, Australia, Malaysia and the United States of America. May God bless you all!
