This group of educators didn't allow bad weather to dampen their spirits upon seeing the pope.

Colombia is currently a peace-seeking country, which is why this group of education representatives traveled to Rome. For them, this trip is one of re-education, where they listen and learn about life from the very start.

“We teachers that are here believe that education really is the basis of the cross-cutting axis for our planet Earth to move towards what we want; a modern civilization where children, the environment, plants, animals and adults can meet again to move this beautiful country forward.”

The representatives had the opportunity to learn from another powerful educator; Pope Francis. They were eager to listen to his stances on children and the environment, two themes very important in Colombia.

“We had the opportunity to see, to feel, to listen. His teachings are very important to us. Not only as a religious leader, but also as a detailed world character.”

The educators also have a special focus on world peace. The pope's message of global education especially resonates with them.

JESUS

“The pope is leading one of those messages at the world level with education, which is precisely that humanity should return to meet and that it should allow a process of solidarity to flow so that world peace can be more tangible.”

HERNANDO

“He has in his hands, not only the Catholic religion but the world peace, because he has always been a standard-bearer for peace. A standard-bearer for justice. A standard-bearer of love, a standard-bearer of the reconciliation that we need so much in Colombia to reconcile.”

They remain hopeful that Colombia can achieve peace, with the help of educators from their country, Italy, and the Vatican.
