Pope Francis will officially end the Synod on the Amazon, with a Mass in St. Peter's Basilica at 10 a.m., local time. Synod fathers and indigenous, who had participated in the three weeks of meeting at the Vatican will participate.

The pope convened this Synod on Oct. 15, 2017. He said the objective was “to find new paths for evangelization... in particular with indigenous people, who are often forgotten and without perspective of a serene future. Also because of the crisis in the Amazon forest, a lung of fundamental importance for our planet.”
