This year the solemnity of Pentecost will be celebrated twice in San Pedro.
At six o'clock in the afternoon in the square the Pope will preside over a Mass which will culminate in a procession. The icon of the Virgin of the 'Divino Amore' will be carried through the streets of the city. People living in Rome will participate in this celebration.
On Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Francis will again celebrate the Pentecost Mass. It is a special day for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, since it is a reality closely linked to the Holy Spirit. More than 120 million people belong to it, distributed in hundreds of different groups. In order to coordinate its relationship with the Holy See, it instituted the organization CHARIS.
Precisely this Sunday Mass will mark the official beginning of its activities.
