The pope met for two hours with this group of 39 Argentine bishops. They are in Rome as part of a Ad Limina visit. Throughout these days they are meeting with the various departments in the Vatican.
It was a cordial meeting, that was conducted in private, the exact details of which, only the bishops and the pope know.
During their session, they raised concerns about “the situation of the poorest and most vulnerable” in the country; and mentioned the upcoming October's election of bishops. They asked that candidates “meet the needs of the most vulnerable, to assist those in crisis and promote the fullness of their dignity.”
The bishops also reminded Pope Francis that they are awaiting his visit to Argentina. The pope has frequently expressed his desire to go, but at the moment does not yet have a fixed date for it.
