Pope Francis embarks on yet another international trip tomorrow. It will be the 29th of his pontificate, going to Bulgaria and Macedonia. He will depart on Sunday, May 5 and will return on Tuesday, May 7.

He will arrive in Bulgaria at 9 a.m. local time. After meeting with the civil authorities, he will pray before the Throne of Saints Cyril and Methodius in the Patriarchal Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky.

On Monday, he will visit a refugee camp and pray for peace along with leaders of the different Bulgarian religious confessions.

Tuesday begins the second stage of the trip: Northern Macedonia. It is like Bulgaria, with a majority of Orthodox, but unlike the neighboring country with a high percentage of Muslims.

While there, Pope Francis will pray before the Mother Teresa Memorial and preside over an ecumenical and inter-religious encounter. He is set to leave Northern Macedonia at 6:30 p.m. to return to Rome.
