On April 15 the whole world watched in shock as Notre Dame Cathedral went up in flames. The fire destroyed the Cathedral's spire and roof. It took around 12 hours for the flames be extinguished.
During that time, Parisians flocked outside the Cathedral praying and holding vigils for those involved in helping to rescue it.
In response to this loss, people from across the world have already begun sending in donations to help in the restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral.
As the French authorities begin to recover and restore what has been lost, they have placed this temporary roof protection on the Cathedral.
It will take years for Notre Dame Cathedral to be restored and some experts even say decades.
