In his daily homily at Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis warned people of the danger in not listening to God. He told Christians to ask themselves this question.

POPE FRANCIS
'Have I been unfaithful to the Lord?' 'No, no, I go to Mass every Sunday.' Yes, yes, but do I have a heart of fidelity. Has my heart lost that fidelity? Is my heart hard, stubborn, deaf? Does it arrange only three or four things for the Lord, and then does what it wants?”

He said when one does not listen to the God they then try to discredit Him. The pope invited everyone to open their hearts to God, as this is the time for His mercy and compassion.
