From March 10 to 15, the pope will return to the Ariccia area, on the outskirts of Rome. There he will have a spiritual retreat with the other Vatican officials.
The theme they will focus on during those days is, “The city of ardent desire. Easter looks and gestures in the life of the world.” The 10 meditations will be given by the Fr. Bernardo Francesco Maria Gianni. He is an abbot of St. Miniato al Monte, in Florence.
During this time, the pope will cease his usual public appearances such as the General Audience. He will also not hold any private meetings with world leaders because he wants to dedicate these days to rest and meditation.
He is scheduled to return to Rome by bus on Friday and resume his usual schedule that same day.
