The pope arrived in Panama on Wednesday, Jan. 23, and left on Sunday, Jan. 27. He arrived in Rome on Monday, Jan. 28.
They were five intense days filled with a lot of emotion. Along with the pope, there were around 600,000 young pilgrims in attendance. It is the first World Youth Day celebrated in Central America.
During his visit, Pope Francis met young prisoners, orphaned, sick and disabled children. He also had a meeting with young students of the Scholas project.
